Former longtime Canton resident Mrs. Michele (Doody) Sharpe was crowned as Mrs. Massachusetts United States 2006 and will travel in July to Las Vegas to represent Massachusetts in the Mrs. United States Pageant. The United States Pageant celebrates the achievements of married women who balance their commitments to their family, community and careers.
Sharpe's platform is the charity organization of Horizons For Homeless Children. The organization advocates for the 10,000 children who will experience homelessness in Massachusetts. The organization touches the lives of the children each week by providing early care, education in community Children's Centers and in the Playspace Programs in shelters throughout Massachusetts. The goal is to build a strong foundation for homeless children and provide the parents with the tools they need to achieve social and economical self-sufficiency.
