Associate Choice program gives $5 Million to nonprofits across the nation
ROXBURY, MA, September 22, 2010 - Horizons for Homeless Children has received $100,000 from the Walmart Foundation as part of the Associate Choice Program, an online campaign where Walmart associates voted directly for a nonprofit to receive funding in their home state. The grant will be directed towards the programs and services of HHC across the state.
"We are truly grateful for this gift, and for Walmart employees' acknowledgement of the serious nature of child and family homelessness," said Meryl Sheriden, Chief Development Officer, Horizons for Homeless Children. "We thank Walmart and their employees for their compassion and generous support as we strive to break the cycle of child and family homelessness."
The six week voting program awarded $5 million in grants to statewide organizations across the U.S.
