Social Impact Research, Root Cause's independent research department, has released a Social Issue Report which identifies high-performing organizations in Massachusetts in the area of school readiness. Horizons for Homeless Children has been identified as one of the top ten high performing school readiness programs in the state.
School Readiness matters because rapid brain development during children's first few years of life lays the foundation for later growth and learning capacity. Children who thrive in their early years are positioned to become strong learners, leaders, and productive citizens. School readiness programs are critical to ensuring that children, particularly those at risk for negative life outcomes, reach kindergarten ready to learn.*
