Horizons for Homeless Children Appoints Chief Education and Training Officer

PRLog.com, March 10, 2011

PRLog (Press Release) - Roxbury, MA. (March 10, 2011) - Horizons for Homeless Children (HHC), a Massachusetts based non-profit dedicated to serving homeless children and families, announced this week the arrival of new Chief Education and Training Officer, Stacy Dimino.

In this new leadership position, Dimino will drive the implementation of two key HHC initiatives: evaluation of its site-based program (Boston's three Community Children's Centers (CCC's) which serve 175 children and their parents each weekday) and management of its Family Partnership Program to ensure that the organization deepens and broadens its influence on the lives of homeless children by assisting homeless families as they transition to permanent housing in communities throughout the Commonwealth. She will also work to increase the national visibility of the Training and Technical Assistance Program which, under Dimino's leadership, will support providers, educators, policy makers and others who are working to improve the lives of young homeless children and families by sharing the HHC family support service model. Dimino will oversee the CCC program as well and participate in the ongoing development and implementation and of HHC's overall strategy.

Stacy Dimino is no stranger to Horizons for Homeless Children. From 2005 to 2007, she served as the Interim Director of Training and Technical Assistance Program and Community Children's Center program. She returns to HHC with over 30 years of experience in early education. Having started her career as a preschool teacher, she has subsequently held various leadership roles including as the Executive Director of a non-profit organization with multi-site center- and shelter-based early education and child care programs in the Greater Boston area. In the past year she has worked as a consultant and led the Massachusetts Training and Technical Assistance Center as the Project Director, working closely with Head Start and Early Head Start programs in the state.

HHC President and CEO, Åsa Fanelli, welcomes Dimino: "I'm thrilled to welcome Stacy back to Horizons for Homeless Children! She has a strong history of success here and I am confident that her skills, experience and management style are in perfect alignment with our goals of program expansion. She is a tremendous asset to Horizons for Homeless Children as we move forward in our growth."
