Currently, there are 1,200 PALs who are actively volunteering 2 hours each week with homeless children in family shelters across Massachusetts. Horizons for Homeless Children is trying to meet our goal of 1,400 PALs who will be trained and placed in shelters and making a difference in the lives of homeless children across the state by June 30.
Everyone here at Horizons for Homeless Children is working extremely hard to identify those 200 people who will go through our training and be placed in a shelter within the next two months.
You can help us reach our goal and here are some ways to be involved:
- Post flyers in your community (available at all HHC office locations or call 800.560.7702 to request them);
- Invite us to your place of worship/community organization to promote the agency/programs/need for PALs;
- Invite us to your corporation to promote the agency/programs/need for PALs;
- Post our information and web link on your intranet;
- Sign up to become a PAL yourself;
- Call us for more ideas.
Let's work together to find just 200 people to add to our network of wonderful volunteers and meet our goal of 1,400 active PALs by June 30! We can do it!
