Horizons for Homeless Children held its 17th Annual Spring Gala Saturday, April 8 at the Seaport Hotel in Boston. The prestigious fundraiser raised over $1.4 million, making it the most financially successful fundraiser to date for the organization. Funds will go towards programs and services for homeless children and their families.

“This year’s Gala was a huge success," said Sue Heilman, Executive Director, Horizons for Homeless Children.  “Everyone had a wonderful time and I am confident that they walked away inspired by the work we are doing to help homeless children thrive.”

Emceed by CBS4 news anchor Lisa Hughes, the 17th Annual Spring Gala, themed “Follow the Leader: Guide the Way for Homeless Children” featured cocktails, dinner, music (the Tom LaMark Orchestra) and dancing, auctions and raffle (a pair of brand new Vespa Scooters this year!).  Some of the auction items included up-close and personal experiences with the Boston Celtics and Boston Red Sox, a trip to Hawaii, a private concert with Livingston Taylor, a private gourmet dinner with world-renowned chef Lydia Shire and much more!  Winston Flowers provided the exquisite floral arrangements.

The 17th Annual Spring Gala was made possible with the generous contributions of our corporate and individual sponsors.  Presenting sponsor this year was the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation.  Other major corporate supporters of the Gala included Bain Capital Children’s Charity, Ltd. and The Abbey Group.

More than 400 guests attended the gala. “It was a thrilling night," Sue Heilman said.  “We thank all of the wonderful committee members and sponsors who made our Spring Gala so incredibly successful!  The impact on our services for young homeless children and families will be significant.”
