Horizons for Homeless Children
Night at the Celtics
January 14, 2010

On January 14, as a charitable partner of the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation, Horizons for Homeless Children celebrated a special night at the TD Banknorth Garden, when the Boston Celtics played the Chicago Bulls.

Because of this wonderful opportunity, we built awareness of the issue of child and family homelessness and of the work of Horizons for Homeless Children throughout the game. During the evening, we had an information table open to the public and our 30-second public service announcement aired on the jumbotron over center court.

During the game, Executive Director Sue Heilman was presented with a $50,000 check from the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation (represented by Ellie Svenson and Audrey Epstein Reny on the night), and longtime Playspace Activity Leader and supporter Sally Davenport was presented with a "Heroes Among Us" Award by the Boston Celtics, in recognition of her important work with our agency.

It was an exciting game despite a Celtics loss against the Chicago Bulls.
