Horizons for Homeless Children
Night at the Celtics
January 18, 2008

On January 18, as a charitable partner of the Boston Celtics, Horizons for Homeless Children celebrated a special night at the TD Banknorth Garden, when the Boston Celtics played the Philadelphia 76ers.

Because of this wonderful opportunity, we built awareness of the issue of child and family homelessness and of the work of Horizons for Homeless Children throughout the game. During the evening, we had an information table open to the public and our 30-second public service announcement aired on the jumbotron over center court.

During the game, Executive Director Sue Heilman was presented with a check from the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation (represented by the Edgerley family on the night), and former Playspace Activity Leader and longtime HHC supporter Ryan Debin was presented with a “Heroes Among Us” Award by the Celtics, in recognition of his important work with our agency.
