More About our Advocacy Efforts…

Horizons for Homeless Children works with a range of partners to advocate for opportunities for homeless children and their families.  In addition to our successful efforts to secure funding from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for expanding the reach of our Playspace Programs, Senator Edward Kennedy secured federal funding for HHC’s efforts in 2004 and 2005.

Our advocacy provides a voice for those most impacted by homelessness.  Homeless parents of children enrolled in HHC’s Community Children’s Centers, in addition to receiving ongoing support from HHC in their efforts to move towards self-sufficiency, have visited the Massachusetts State House to meet with our State Representatives and Senators to talk about the importance of funding for child care, homelessness prevention, and housing programs.
