Horizons for Homeless Children is an independent, non-profit organization exclusively dedicated to serving homeless children and their families. We are seeking candidates for the position of Family Advocate to support the families that we serve. This is an exempt position reporting to the Family Advocate Coordinator. HHC is actively seeking to increase the cultural diversity of its workforce.
Areas of responsibility include:
- Intake assessment of new families
- Coordination of support services for families in our program
- Case Management
- Co-leading groups and workshops
- Maintaining collaborative relationships with community providers
- Maintaining and updating files
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Family Studies required
- Spanish speaking strongly preferred
- Case Manager experience is critical
- Experience working with homeless and/or at risk families
- Commitment to a collaborative team approach
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Development a plus
